Maternity Clothes

Thanks to 2 really great friends, I have a sweet stash of borrowed maternity clothes! And now that I'm officially public about being pregnant, I'm going to start wearing them!

I'm "Out"

So it's official. All the teachers at my school know I'm pregnant. That pretty much means everyone in town will know in the next 48 hours. It feels like a huge weight's been lifted. I'm really happy to be "public" about being pregnant!

The Note

Caught some 7th graders passing a note in which they were daring each other to, "Ask Mrs. B if she's pregnant." I was already debating telling the teachers at today's faculty meeting- guess I'm definitely telling now.

Light Sleeper

I was a light sleeper before I got married, but 7 years of hearing video game explosions as I fell asleep and having Nate turn on his light and read for an hour somewhere in the middle of my REM cycle cured me of that. I usually get 8 hours of completely uninterrupted sleep... until I got pregnant. I've become a light sleeper again. Every little sound (from the whistle of the train to the meows of the cats) wakes me up. I get up 3-4 times per night to pee. I guess it's good preparation for the kind of sleep I'll be getting once the baby comes, but man, I already miss my old sleep schedule.

Secrets, Secrets Are No Fun

I am SO over keeping this a secret. I know that there's a chance my job depends on it, but this is getting ridiculous. We're supposed to know about jobs in 2 more weeks. Even if we don't, I think I'm going to go public.

Heartburn

Killer heartburn yesterday and today. Bleh.

Allergies

Until just 3 days ago, I had no seasonal allergy symptoms. I was hoping that I would be in that blessed third of pregnant women whose allergies got better (or even go away) during pregnancy, but due to the itchy eyes and runny nose I have today, I know it was too good to be true.

Is It Normal?

I keep Googling "__ weeks pregnant images"- just to see how my belly compares to other women's. I know everyone's different, but I still want to be reassured that my little bump is "normal" size.

15 Weeks!

FuPu is the size of an apple or orange, has a neck (hurray!), is growing eye lashes, and is now responsive to light. The book says that if I shined a flashlight on my belly, he/she would move away from it!

Rubbing My Tummy

I have been unconsciously touching my protruding belly. While this is weird simply because it's not very big yet, it's especially weird when I think that the baby is still WAY lower than where I'm sticking out. That means that I'm not rubbing the baby- I'm just rubbing the fat and organs the growing baby has pushed up and out.

Belly Band

Does anyone have a belly band I could borrow to see if I like it? None of my jeans will button :(

Pregnancy Dream

I dreamed I was in labor, but that I "wasn't doing it right" so Nate decided to do it for me. The doctors sent me home. I was devastated because 1) I had failed to give birth to my child and 2) I didn't even get to be there when she was born. The worst part was that no one seemed to understand why I was upset.

Pintrest

I've been pinning baby/kid things the whole time I've been using Pintrest so I thought it was safe to pin just 3 things I've been eyeing without raising suspicion. Apparently not. TWO people have since asked me if I'm pregnant based on those 3 little pins... I'm getting very tired of keeping this a secret. Should know about my job situation in 3 more weeks.

14 Weeks!

This week FuPu is the size of my fist! It's really crazy to think that there's something that size inside me. In other news, he/she is straightening out a bit this week and growing some soft hair (lanugo) all over his/her body to keep warm until there's some body fat.

3 Months Down...

6 more months to go! My due date is exactly 6 months from today.

Consignment Sale

Went to my first consignment sale today. It was CRAZY (kids and strollers and moms everywhere!), but also good in that I got a few deals and got a chance to look over the different baby items that are available. Also had a good time with Mom and Monica.

Rubber band

Today I'm using a rubber band to close my jeans. I'm down to 5 pairs of pants that still close (and that's only due to my appalling inability to buy pants that fit me in the waist).
